Centenary University Puts On Travel Through Time Fashion Show

The Travel Through Time Fashion Show will run at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on April 2 at the Edith Bolte Kutz Black Box Theater at the David and Carol Lackland Center.  The cost is $10 per adult and $4 for students and children.  There will be a reception between the two shows in the Lackland Center Lobby and it will be open to ticket holders for either show.

More than 20 students will model outfits that were popular since 1867 until today.  This opportunity will include costumes from Acorn Hall, a museum in Morristown.  The collection from Acorn Hall will reflect the first 40 years of this time span.  Original garments will be worn from each decade after 1910.  It will include outfits from Centenary Stage Company’s collection.  The show will include two to six looks for every ten years that Centenary has been in existence!

“This is going to be a spectacular show,” says Julia Sharp, Assistant Professor of Fashion at Centenary University.  “It will be fun and spectators will also learn about Centenary’s history through the fashion commentary.  This opportunity should have a mass appeal, plus attendees will be able to participate in a reception.”

Tickets are available through Centenary Stage Company at (908) 979-0900 or at centenarystageco.org.  For further information, call Nancy Paffendorf at (908) 852-1400, ext. 2480 or at paffendorfn@centenaryuniversity.edu.
