The Hanover Township Economic Development Advisory Committee has been selected as the Morris County Economic Development Corporation’s 2017 Municipal Economic Development Award recipient.
The award was to be presented on March 16, during MCEDC’s 26th Annual Partnership in Economic Development Awards luncheon at the Wyndham Hamilton Park Hotel in Florham Park.
The year 2017 marked a dynamic year for Hanover’s EDAC. Among the Advisory Committee’s top accomplishments was the creation and public roll-out of “Hanover 2026,” a community development blueprint for Hanover Township’s 350th anniversary. The presentation was the culmination of months of work on the part of EDAC’s volunteers to develop a comprehensive, strategic economic development program that aspires to leverage Hanover’s strengths, realize its opportunities, and confront (where possible) and mitigate weaknesses and threats. EDAC also exhibited on Hanover Township Day and, along with the Township Committee, co-hosted “Making Connections,” the municipality’s second annual local business-to-business networking event.
“It’s truly a privilege to work with EDAC,” said Mayor Ron Francioli. “They’re a premiere group of dedicated volunteers who willingly share their expertise in support of the business sector of our community and the high quality of life that characterizes Hanover Township. I couldn’t be more thrilled that the Morris County Economic Development Corporation is recognizing them for their outstanding work.”
