Eisenhower Students Collect Halloween Candy For Troops Overseas

Every Halloween kids go door-to-door to trick-or-treat and bring home a huge haul of candy and goodies. Eisenhower Middle School students though won’t be eating all of theirs this year. Instead the school has partnered with Operation Gratitude to share their Halloween candy with our troops serving overseas.

To help get the school in the spirit, students prepared posters to hang around the halls and volunteered to help spread the word for the collection.

The students generously donated more than 100 pounds of candy, demonstrating their exemplary character and generosity. The middle school teachers chipped in by donating the necessary funds to pay for the shipping costs.

“EMS continually attempts to model positive citizenship within their local and global community as an example of the values inherent in our programs and beliefs of students, teachers, and parents,” said Suzanne Scudder, program organizer and special education teacher.
