Livingston Public Library plans to host a speaker series for adults, Jerusalem: City of Joy and Sorrow, Thur., March 30, 7:30 p.m.-8:45 p.m., in the Program Room. Kean University Associate Professor of History Prof. Christopher M. Bellitto will present a PowerPoint from the earliest mention in the Bible to today’s headlines, the city of Jerusalem has played a vital role in world history. Bellitto will tour maps and images and trace the repeated rises and falls, twists and turns, of a city that sits at the intersection of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
This program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. It is free and open to all. Registration is not required.
