For those who already have visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads or just can’t wait for Santa to slide down the chimney, celebrate the holiday season early with the Mayo Performing Arts Center. There’s the classic favorite New Jersey Ballet’s “Nutcracker,” with performances to last all 12 days of Christmas, rocking around the Christmas tree with some favorite ’90s artists such as Mark McGrath and Lisa Loeb at The Band of Merrymakers, and tons of holiday cheer right here in Morristown. So get ready to deck the halls!
The performance for “Mooseltoe” is set for Sun., Nov. 27 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. A moose with an impossible dream yearns to fly with Santa’s reindeer in this holiday “moosical” geared for ages four to 10. Tickets are $12 to $15.
“Sandi Patty Christmas Blessing” is set for Wed., Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. The most awarded female vocalist in contemporary Christian music, Sandi Patty is one of the most acclaimed performers of the time. Enjoy an evening of traditional holiday favorites with the Gospel Music Hall of Famer simply known as “The Voice.” Tickets are $29 to $59.
“The Band of Merrymakers” are set for perform on Sat., Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. Fronted by hit songwriters Sam Hollander and Kevin Griffin, The Band of Merrymakers is a supergroup of music stars who perform favorite holiday songs. Featuring Mark McGrath, Tyler Glenn and Lisa Loeb. The artists will also perform many of the hits for which they are known. Tickets are $39 to $69.
Set for Sun., Dec. 4 “Broadway Christmas Wonderland: The Holiday Show” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Santa and his merry helpers take the audience on an unforgettable nostalgic Christmas journey featuring glittering costumes, a dazzling cast and the highest-kicking Chorus Girls this side of the North Pole! This family-oriented holiday show features seasonal favorites including “White Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Jingle Bells,” “Deck the Halls” and many more. This performance is sponsored by AAA Northeast. Tickets are $39 to $69.
New Jersey Ballet’s “Nutcracker” with New Jersey Symphony Orchestra is scheduled for Dec. 9 to 24. This seasonal favorite enchants youngsters and grown-ups alike with splendid dancing, eye-popping special effects and a touch of holiday magic. The annual tradition features orchestral accompaniment by New Jersey Symphony Orchestra! Ages 4 and up. Tickets are $29 – $69.
