Hopatcong Teachers Taught Each Other This Summer

The Hopatcong School District embarked on a new endeavor in which staff-driven professional development was offered during the summer months.
This new PD series consisted of a collection of courses on using G-suite/Google Apps for Education as well as Smartboard Technologies.  They were taught by Hopatcong Borough Schools staff members.  These courses ran during the week of Aug. 21 to Aug. 24.
Skills mastered in these workshops include the use of Hyperdocs, Google forms, creating an organized drive, Google Classroom setup, Smartboard lessons/resources and more. Approximately 37 staff members participated in this new opportunity. The workshops received an overwhelmingly positive response. Hopatcong High School teacher Karen Cubberly said: “I enjoyed the classes offered. I had a lot of fun and feel much better equipped to begin the school year with some of the technology we use.”
Middle School teacher Sue Hill said: “I learned more from my PD this past week that will benefit my students, than (from) the PD that we have experienced with outside vendors.”
