The Mount Olive Public Library is pleased to host The Land Conservancy of New Jersey on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 6:45 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. in its Gathering Room.
Barbara McCloskey, membership and outreach manager, will discuss how they have preserved more than 400 acres in Mt. Olive township to help protect the drinking water of 1.5 million residents; and in the process, established a community garden that has enabled residents to not only grow their own vegetables, but also donate excess produce to the local food pantries.
Registration is requested. Call 973-691-8686, ext. 106, or go to www.mop.org to register.
