  1. Why did you choose to run for mayor/council?

I am running for Township Council because I believe citizens should have a choice. For many years we have had only one party dominating local politics, I think it is time for a new fresh voice that better represents the town. I also believe new voices will bring new fresh ideas to propel Denville into the future.

  1. What do you feel is the biggest issue facing Denville today?

Infrastructure and providing options of affordable housing for our residents are very big issues facing Denville. We need to prepare for it as we cannot avoid it.  I believe we should pursue smart development that considers our infrastructure and environment. We must be mindful that affordable units will help families already living in Denville and provide an opportunity for others.

  1. Why did you decide to run now?

I have been involved in local government for many years and I would like to serve my town in an official capacity. With years of experience and know how I feel I could bring my knowledge to Town Council. I feel that it is the right time for us as a ticket to step up and help Denville move forward.

  1. What specific skills will you bring to the table if elected/re-elected?

I have lived in Denville since 1964. I was raised here, my family has been here since Denville was Rockaway. I understand the traditions the citizens hold dear as I value our small town as well. However, I also understand we need to move forward, in order to prepare for the future. Time’s are changing and we need leadership to help guide us through.

  1. What new programs or initiatives would you like to start if elected/re-elected?

I would like to see proactive affordable housing solutions. I believe it is inappropriate for us  to have a wait-and-see attitude towards the affordable housing litigation:we can and should create our own narrative, which means we must think and act strategically.

  1. What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about people, about equal opportunity, about my hometown. We are such an amazing community of civic minded people and I truly believe in this town. I know that when we help each other in our community we raise everyone up.

  1. What is the best thing about Denville?

Our citizens. We are a family here in Denville. We are all in it together. This is a kind, caring community that I love. We look out for each other and take care of each other.  That is why I want to serve our community in an official capacity.

  1. What are your hobbies/interests?

I am a big football fan, specifically the NY Giants. I enjoy listening to all different types of music, and I have been known to sing along.

  1. What is your professional background?

I am a kitchen designer – I love helping families realize their vision of a dream home. It’s an attitude that I will bring with me to Town Hall, as we work to keep Denville a dream town for our residents
