The Millburn Free Public Library has planned a Winter Holidays Food Lecture by Judith Krall-Russo for Thur. Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. Winter is the best time to bring family and friends together for warm festivities. Learn the history, customs, and foods of various winter celebrations, including, Victorian Christmas, Hanukka, Ancient Rome’s Saturnalia and the Winter Solstice. Food historian Judith Krall-Russo returns to the library to lead the discussion.
For cookie lovers, come to the Holiday Cookie Swap, set for Tues., Dec. 12, 1 p.m.
Bring a favorite cookie recipe and two to four dozen cookies to swap and share. Must make note of all ingredients in the recipe for allergy purposes! Recipes will be collected and made into a booklet.
There are several ongoing programs offered at the library.
Adult Coloring is held monthly every first Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Film Festival movies are held on occasional Fri. at 2 p.m. and Wed. at 6:30 p.m.
Great Courses are every Wed. from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Mah Jongg is on second Thurs. of the month at 10:30 a.m.; starting in Nov. will be every first and third Thursday of the month at 10:30 a.m.
TEDxTalks: every 4th Thursday of the month at 2pm.
