There will be a special Mother’s Day Tea on Sun., May 14 at 2 p.m. at the Morris County Historical Society at Acorn Hall, which will be held in conjunction with the current exhibit 1917: World War, Women’s Rights, and Weaponry Sciences. The tea will celebrate all mothers, and especially honor Gold Star Mothers. Featured guest speaker will be Cheryl Doltz, a Gold Star Mother and president of the SGT. Ryan E. Doltz Memorial Foundation, Inc. Proceeds from the event will benefit this foundation, which in part, distributes scholarships to graduating seniors from several Morris County high schools.
The event will also share ways to contribute to or help support our local U.S. Armed Forces veterans and active duty military. Activities include creating “Hearts of Hope” healing-art heart crafts that will be donated to local veterans associations.
