Netcong Brings Holiday Cheer To Families

Where else does a town councilman, mayor, local Rotary Club, chief of police, and school superintendent come together to deliver 11 donated holiday meals to families in need? Netcong is where.

Town Councilman Robert Hathaway spearheaded the idea with Netcong Police Chief Jim Blesson and Netcong School District Superintendent Dr. Gina Cinotti.  Hathaway was able to secure donations from the Netcong Police Department, Netcong Shop Rite, and the Netcong-Stanhope Rotary. Cinotti and her team identified families who could use some holiday cheer and food. Netcong Shop Rite packaged a full holiday meal for 11 families. On Dec. 22, 2016, Mayor Joseph Nametko dressed up a Santa Claus and Blesson and Cinotti delivered the meals to Netcong families.

Nametko says “It was an honor to play a small role in bringing Christmas cheer to our residents.”
