Roxbury Choir Director And Students Honored At All State Choir

Fourteen Roxbury students performed a concert in Atlantic City recently for the New Jersey All-State Mixed Choir. This prestigious ensemble is comprised of the top singers across the state of New Jersey.

The students were Alec Burns, grade 11;  Cassidy Gilroy, grade 12;  Bryan Gonzalez, grade 11; Ian Hachey, grade 11; Ivan Largo, grade 11; Matthew Malsbury Kyle Massage, grade 12;   Storm Moeller, grade 12;  Hannah Kennedy, grade 12;  Austin Kurbansade, grade 11;   Christopher Scire, grade 11; Andrew Velasquez, grade 11; Danielle Wachter, grade 12, and Jacob Wood, grade 11, not pictured.

This year Roxbury’s own Patrick Hachey, RHS vocal music teacher and lead performing arts teacher, was given the prestigious honor of directing the All-State Choir. Conductors are chosen through a rigorous application process and only one is selected each year to work with the ensemble.

The purpose of NJ All-State Chorus is to offer a unique educational experience to the best-qualified vocal students in N.J.. Accepted students will perform choral literature of the highest quality, under the direction of an outstanding conductor.
