Seniors Keep Walking This Winter Through Recreation/YMCA Program

The winter chill is here but that is no reason to hang up one’s walking shoes.

Randolph Twp. Parks and Recreation is inviting seniors to sign up for the 2016-2017 Senior Indoor Walking Program. Four sessions have been planned for the program.

“This program was developed in collaboration with the Randolph YMCA in response to requests from Randolph Township seniors about the lack of an indoor space to walk during inclement weather,” according to Randolph Twp. Director of Parks and Recreation Russ Newman.

Four eight week sessions are set for Mon. and Wed., 10 a.m.- 11 a.m.

The program is for those 60 years old or older. Limit is for 20 participants.

 Participants in this program will have access to walk indoors at the Randolph YMCA in Randolph during their registered time. 

Session one is set for Mon., Dec. 5, 12, 19; Jan 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.

Session two is Wed. Dec. 7, 14, 21, 28; Jan. 4, 11, 18, 25.

Session three is Mon., Feb. 6, 13, 20, 27; Mar. 6, 13, 20, 27.

Session four is Wed., Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22; Mar. 1, 8, 15, 22.

Cost is $15 per eight week session. Sessions may not be split.

 

Make checks payable to Randolph Township.  All fees are non-refundable.

Location:          Randolph YMCA, 14 Dover Chester Road, Randolph, NJ. Transportation will not be             provided by the Township Dial-A-Ride services.

Dress Requirements: Comfortable shoes and clothing for walking at own pace.
