Adults weren’t the only ones to cast their votes this month.
As part of a special unit on elections, first graders in Christina Grott’s class at Center Grove Elementary School read three books about elections: Doreen Cronin’s “Duck For President,” Kelly DiPucchio’s “Grace for President” and Kay Winter’s “My Teacher for President.”
Grott created paper ballots which let students vote for Duck, Grace or my teacher and then helped the class build a voting booth where they could cast their votes.
When the votes were in, Grott won the election with nine votes. Duck came in second with four, after all, he can quack and Grace took home three.
