Temple Shalom Brotherhood in Succasunna has planned a blood drive for Sunday, March 25.
The blood drive, open to the public, runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Temple.
The group serves the temple and the greater community by providing educational and social activities. For instance, the upcoming blood drive, operated by Community Blood Services, will provide much-needed blood and blood products for many hospitals in the area. Donors get a free cholesterol screening as well.
Potential donors should make a reservation, although walk-ins are welcome. Community Blood Services recommends that donors weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good general health, eat before they donate, drink plenty of water before and after they donate and bring their ID when they come.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, three comics entertained about 100 people at the Temple as part of a Brotherhood Comedy Night. The three talked about a variety of topics from the challenges of dating, to parents in the contracting industry to dealing with families. After the three did their routines, they stood on stage together and answered the audience’s questions. The discussion proved as entertaining as the comedy acts.
The month of activities also included participation in a Purim Carnival, a Seder for members and their children and a monthly meeting that included a history of Lake Hopatcong.
