According to the CDC Brain injuries, like concussions, are a leading cause of death and disability in America. Opportunity Project, an organization for people with brain injuries, is inviting the community to generate awareness for brain injury and the need for prevention during National Brain Injury Awareness Month.
On Tuesday, March 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Healthy Brain – Healthy Me Wellness Day is planned at the Opportunity Project Clubhouse in Millburn. The day features a yoga class from Bhakti Barn Yoga, presentations on topics including tips to improve memory and cognitive health, “brain food” samplings by OP’s Nutrition Counselor, giveaways and more.
On Friday, April 27, at 6 p.m., Millburn firefighters will challenge the Millburn Police officers in a BBQ themed, Cook-off for Brain Injury Battle of The Badges. The family-friendly event features a dinner buffet, entertainment, door prizes and more! The event will be held at the Millburn Fire Department.
