UpTown Flutes To Perform Tomorrow

 

UpTown Flutes plans to perform in the Grace Community Music series on Sat., March 18, at 7:30 p.m.  Concert is open to public – donation at the door.

Artists International Award-winning acclaimed virtuoso ensemble UpTown Flutes present an ever-changing repertoire of music that is evocative, enchanting, always appealing works for the whole family of flutes: piccolo, C flute, alto flute and bass flute. UpTown Flutes is a chamber ensemble with each player on a unique part. The group actively commissions new works and is dedicated to bringing new flute music to a wider audience.

The New York Concert Review called them “organic… mesmerizing…UpTown Flutes  deserves major attention as they are a top-notch and one of a kind. ”

The group will perform works by John Palmer, Thomas Simaku, Catherine McMichael, Ron Korb, Austin Scott, Derek Charke and Wil Offermans. Members of the group performing are: L Elise Carter, Jeanne Fessenden, Patricia Lazarra, Marcia Hankle, Rebecca Vega, Virginia Schulze-Johnson and guest artist Lawrence Liggins.

Grace Community Music is celebrating its 20th anniversary season. It was founded by donations at the wedding of Dr. Matlack and Jabez Van Cleef, to showcase local musicians, build a sense of community, and open the church to the greater Morris County audience.
