Since many Verona families will struggle to provide school supplies for their children this fall, the Junior Woman’s Club of Verona will hold its annual Packs with Purpose fundraiser and school supply collection.
This year, the Juniors and Walgreens-Verona hope is looking to the community for support. To help, residents can see a list of requested items for donation or make a monetary donation by visiting www.veronajuniors.org/packs-withpurpose.html.
To drop off donations, Packs with Purpose donation collection boxes will be available at the Verona Community Center, HardBodyz Fitness and Platinum Fitness through Aug. 7. The Juniors will also pick up school supplies from your house. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for pickup instructions, or, if you have any questions, Juniors’ members will also be on hand to collect donated school supplies outside WalgreensVerona on Fri., Aug. 4, 2017, and Sun., Aug.6, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Last fall, due to the overwhelming generosity of the community and their partnership with Abdallah Khetir, the Walgreens-Verona store manager, the Verona Juniors filled more than 40 backpacks.
After filling the backpacks, the Juniors worked with the Verona’s Health and Social Services Program to distribute them to the students who most needed them.
