What’s New In Roxbury? Flu Shots, Garage Sale And More

Roxbury has a lot on the agenda in the coming weeks, including a holiday street festival, community garage sale and a fun family litter clean-up day.
Free Flu Shots are now available for seniors with Medicare Part B as their primary insurance and are also available for adults 18 and older for $20 at the Health Center. For more information, call Jim Craig at 973-448-2030.
Volunteers have the power to make a big difference, helping keep Roxbury clean and green. Individuals, groups or businesses can sign up to help remove litter from various areas in town on Sat., Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. To register, visit http://roxburynjus/cleanupform or call 973-448-2053. Free breakfast and t-shirts are available for all volunteers while supplies last; and giveaways.
The Roxbury Area Chamber of Commerce has now opened vendor registration for its fifth Annual Community Yard Sale, to be held at the Horseshoe Lake Complex on Sept. 23.  The event will be held rain or shine between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The event attracts a healthy mix of vendors selling new and old items, crafts, hand-made items, collectibles, household items and clothes, as well as shoppers from near and far. Food trucks and facilities will be available. There is no admission charge for shoppers. The public is invited to Roxbury’s 2017 Home for the Holidays event, to be held Sat., Dec. 2 , from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main Street in Succasunna in front of and inside the Roxbury Library and churches.
The street festival will feature lots of musical performances, Irish dancers, costumed characters, crafters, vendors, food trucks, hot chocolate, crafts and activities for kids, puppeteers, Santa and carriage rides with jingle-belled horses.
