This May 4 will be a special day for members of the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC). All members have been invited to spend the day at Alnwick Hall – The Abbey, the site of WAMMC’s 18th Mansion in May premier fundraising event which is open fromMay 1 to May 31, 2017. Members who purchase a ticket to tour The Abbey are invited to visit on this special day, which has been designated as a “day of appreciation” for members in recognition of their ongoing support of WAMMC. Those attending on May 4 will have an opportunity to tour the mansion early in the month, visit the boutiques and mingle with fellow WAMMC members. They will also receive a goodie bag and a member’s pin, and will, along with their guests, enjoy a complimentary dessert in the on-site Canfield Café.

“We are extremely grateful to our members who continue to support the Women’s Association, and we are honored to welcome them to the very first Members Day at the Mansion on May 4,” said Gwynne Wade, WAMMC board member and Chair of the WAMMC Membership Committee.

Mansion in May is the signature fundraiser for WAMMC, generating over $10 million for Morristown Medical Center since 1974. WAMMC’s most recent Mansion in May 2014 at Blairsden in Peapack-Gladstone, New Jersey raised over $2 million for the expansion of the Joan and Edward Foley Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the addition of a new Autism and Child Development Center for the Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center. Proceeds from Mansion in May 2017 will help establish the new Center for Nursing Innovation and Research at Morristown Medical Center.

The Women’s Association, established in 1893, remains a volunteer organization with the unwavering mission to support Morristown Medical Center. WAMMC also operates several free-standing, revenue-producing entities, including the hospital’s gift shops and The Bargain Box Thrift Boutique. WAMMC, one of the largest contributors to the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, is an integral part of the hospital’s ability to continue bringing cutting-edge technology and superior health care services to the community, and has raised nearly $25 million to date in support of this mission.
